Product Information - Mullite Virginia

Information

Virginia Mullit is produced by calcination of Virginia Kyanite, an alumino silicate. Kyanite ore is crushed, the kyanite crystals are separated from other ore components and impurities by flotations and gravity separation. Result is Virginia Kyanite with a prutiy of 92-96 %. The kyanite is transformed to mullite by calcination in a rotary kiln. Virginia Mullite has a high thermal volume stability and high thermal shock resistance. Virginia Mullite is characterized by an excellent high temperature creep and corrosion resistance.
