On January 1, 2021, Ellen Steger took over the position of Head of Region Europe at Possehl Erzkontor as part of the restructuring and will also be part of the new Management Board. As Head of Minerals Department, she previously headed sales at Mineralmahlwerk Hamm (MMW), whose majority stake was taken over by Erzkontor in 2020.
"With Ellen Steger we are gaining a very experienced and well-connected raw material expert", says Jan Weber, CEO of Possehl Erzkontor. “In her new role as Head of Region Europe, she will use her many years of expertise to significantly advance and expand our business and strengthen our position on the raw materials market in Europe. In addition, she expands our Management Board, which will not only be more diverse but also more effective in order to implement our Road#2024PLUS strategy process that we started in 2020.”
Ellen Steger has been working in the raw materials industry since 1997. In 2004 she started working at Thyssen Krupp and successfully expanded the minerals department for ten years. After an interim position at RHI Magnesita, she came back to Thyssen Krupp in 2014. In 2016, Steger became Head of Sales & Sourcing at Mineralmahlwerk Hamm, where she is still working today.
With the new function Head of Region Europe, Possehl Erzkontor is bundling its sales activities at Ellen Steger. She is responsible for the entire business of the Erzkontor on the European continent. This not only includes trade, but increasingly the growing market for processing and recycling raw materials. The Erzkontor is thus strengthening its market position in its home market and creating a new structure in order to serve European customers and suppliers even better and more effectively in the future.
In addition to Europe, the Erzkontor is also creating new sales structures in North America, South America and Asia, each with a Head of Region. This development is a further step in the trading company's new Road#2024PLUS strategy, which Jan Weber developed together with the Erzkontor Management team. The Possehl Erzkontor wants to become more vertical and diversified by 2024 in order to be the first point of contact for raw materials for its customers worldwide.
