Possehl Erzkontor GmbH - your competent partner
In 1915 Possehl Erzkontor GmbH was founded in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck for the trade in Swedish iron ore. After 1960 the company's activities shifted to manganese and chrome ores. Presently, they are spread out more broadly, though still focussing on raw materials for the refractory and metallurgical industries.
But time and change do not stand still and wherever possible we wish to remain one step ahead of forthcoming developments that need to be recognized in time.

Crushing, sieving, milling, classifying
With modern facilities for crushing, sieving and milling available at various locations in Europe all international standard powder and grain sizes can readily be produced. Also contaminated cargoes can be reprocessed. Open air and covered storage facilities are sufficiently available. Sampling and quality control are regularly being carried out and all crushing, milling and sieving plants are certified in accordance with the prevailing DIN EN ISO standards. At all sites there are packing installations but deliveries can also be made in bulk either in containers or by vessel or truck.

The basis of our success - the Possehl Group
An energetic group of about 70 companies around the globe presently belong to the Possehl group headed by the holding L. Possehl & Co. mbH which was founded in 1847 in Lübeck. The only shareholder of the holding company is the Possehl Foundation established by Senator Emil Possehl in 1919. Its earnings are exclusively distributed for the welfare of the Hanseatic town of Lübeck and its citizens.
